The day we didn't storm the Bastille
Usually on Josh's and my anniversary I post something schmaltzy and a cute picture. This year I've decided to post the funny/unflattering/silly pictures from the rehearsal, ceremony, and reception. (There aren't all THAT many; I've just chosen my favorites.) ( Read more... )Click to see larger/more detailed versions. So... yeah. Yay 4th anniversary! grr, argh, etc.
I woke up this morning with Bell's Palsy. I get to take steroids and anti-viral meds for a week, with the hope that it might make the Bell's Palsy go away. But it might not. *jazz hands* In the meantime, I look ridiculous, I sound ridiculous, I have to wear an eye patch to bed (okay, I guess the eye patch is KIND OF cool), and there are 1-year-olds who eat with more decorum and neatness than I do right now. Goddamn it. Current Mood: annoyed |

Then there were none
Galina-rat passed this morning. She had been doing so well after her surgery last week, but last night she was completely listless, could hardly walk, was having trouble eating. I called John, who said to try and get her to eat something more (we grated a baby carrot for her, and halved a big grape) but if she wasn't better by this morning to meet him at the hospital. Which is what happened. She was old; it was time. I think we made her happy while she was with us. I'm going to miss her a lot... she used to tell me stories (stories in Rat, mind you, but stories just the same.) Current Mood: sad |

Infinite Summer
I happened to run into this today (don't ask). I read a lot of books, but I don't read many books that other people I know read, so it's hard to talk about them to other people. So I'm tempted to read the book so that I can read about people's thoughts reading it. I've also heard of David Foster Wallace before, though I haven't actually read any books by him. Infinite Summer is reading Infinite Jest by DFW, which is apparently his second book and a rather long one at that. I'm quite sure I can keep up with 75 pages/week though. Anyone else interested? |
